I’m not usually one for moody tones, but the rooms have such a unique design that is done so tastefully. Deep, earthy tones and gold accents give the rooms a high-class touch without looking too traditional. There are several room types, from double, twin, and queen rooms to suites with large lounge areas and stunning views of the Sapporo Beer Factory.

The restaurant and bar are nothing to sneeze at either. With origins from German decor, the restaurant reminds me of The Great Gatsby, with beautiful gold walls and deep maroon seats. Marble bathtubs, huge rooms with high ceilings, and panoramic city views?! Sign me up. Guests' rooms are designed like high-end homes, with natural colors reminiscent of Hokkaido’s nature and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Nakajima Park and Toyohira River.

I recommend taking the hotels private transfer from Sapporo or New Chitose Airport. It's extremely convenient and will be 45 minutes from Sapporo or 80 minutes from New Chitose Airport. Keep in mind you need to make advance reservations at least 3 days before your check-in date.

By Car

Kappa Liner

The Kappa Liner is a convenient alternative if you choose public transportation. There's also the Rapid 7 or 8 public bus from Sapporo Station, but they are around 20 minutes longer than the Kappa Liner.

The shuttle bus departs from Sapporo, Odori, and Susukino stations (reservation required). One round-trip ticket is ¥1,920.

If you rent a car, it will take about 1 hour and 10 minutes to get to Ao No Za from Sapporo.

The shuttle bus is 1,000 JPY per person for one way, and it takes 1 hour from new chitose airport or 2 hours if you leave from sapporo station. 

If you rent a car, you’ll be able to reach the hotel in about 1.5 hours, and there is free on-site parking.
